I also like to say something about Hung Hom, where i just move into this district just 1 and half a month ago. I like this place even though the traffic jam keep me crazy ard the Hung Hom tunnel. I like it cuz it really full of things u look for right here. Food, coffee shop, wine bar in hotels, swimmng pool, nice victoria harbor view, running path along the harbor, supermarket, 7-11 , traditional market for chinese food, many small food stores - thai, , Shanghai, Chichua, Sichue vietnam, congee, noodles, western, many pet shops, and can connect the overnite bus from Central by N121. If not after 12:30 can catch the 151 at very reasonable price HKD8.9 from Central to my place.

Also it's a hub to CWB, Central, TST, YMT, even to Kwung Tong, by mini bus, only takes ard 15 minutes...my place is in the old building, but hv good maintenance, not high standard but just easy for food and transportation. Haha....

Anyone is welcomed to join me for running and drinks friday nite! love to know more ppl in Hung Hom for hanging ard in this local district.

Min_sg22,

I'm living in Whampoa Garden and I work in Admiralty (one station from Central). By bus, it takes me half an hour (the same bus goes to central). But in Whampoa, there is a ferry which takes you to central (it lasts around 15min).

For a budget of about 7-8k, in Whampoa garden, I think it's not enough. Mine is 8500HKD and it's around 480sq.ft. And you have to count the gaz, electricity, water, so on. My apartment is fully furnished and really well designed. All the apartments I visited was around 9-10k. Now I don't know about the Hung Hom area, maybe you can find cheaper...

Whampoa garden is really nice: lot of shops, convinient stores, supermarket (You can find anything in Jusco), restaurants, coffee shop, bowling, cinema, fitness, etc...

I really like this place.
But I let the others give their own opinion.

Good luck.

Hey neighbours

Me and a couple of others from Harbourfront Horizon are meeting for drinks on Thursday about 8.30pm, probably at Bahama Mamas, Knutsford Terrace, but would like to extend the invite to all other Hung Hom-ers.

Please PM me for details and contact numbers if you are interested...

Ling.

Looking for drinking buddies

Hi All,

I moved to HK about 3 weeks ago and finally have found my feet and am looking for drinking buddies from the Hung Hom area. I live in Horizon Harbourview and work at one of the newspapers here so I hear about all sorts of interesting events and bars and have already found some favorites. Has anyone been interested to find out about that cool little bar at the Hung Hom ferry? That's the kind of place you can make your own haunt.
Nick

Looking for drinking buddies

Nick,

Yeah, that little bar by the ferry has always interested me. I live at Harbourfront Horizon, and thought that has great potential. Good view, good range of beers and probably quite cheap. What's more, very close to home.

If you're keen to walk over for a beer, give me a shout. I'd be keen to take a look.

PS - Are you a Kiwi?
