Kite flying in Pok fu Lam - Saturday July 21

With the weather being so nice lately, a few of us thought that it might be nice to have a weekend gathering outdoors!

This weekend is short notice, so let's say next Saturday, July 21 at around 3:30pm. There's a park over by Cyberport (it's behind Bel-Air and Cyberport) which offers a nice view of the water and some of the outlying islands. Might be a good place to have a couple of "beverages of choice" and, weather permitting, maybe to even fly a kite!

Feel free to show up... this is not a formal event, so we don't need a head count. RSVP to this post ONLY if you can NOT make it (along with the obligatory reason why you can't make it and best wishes for everyone), or if you have a comment which is totally irrelevant to this thread (sarcastic would be a bonus.)

Other than that, see you there!

I think the challenge should be to make them out of dried squid carcasses and bamboo.

chloe69 will become famous soon enough
Wow! Something's actually happening in Cyberport??? Amazing...given how sleepy this side of town is...

Can see the park from my house...so if I spot kites there on Sat, will hop down...

xx

The dried-lizard-onna-stick you can buy round my way looks like it needs nothing added but a length of string. And maybe a bow on its tail.

Sounds like a good excuse to, well, sit in a park and have a drink. I might bring the kids along for a bit, if they buy me a kite.

Looks like the event organizer has gone missing.

Can someone tell me where I can pick up a kite? I have no interest in doing the squid on a string ritual in Cyberport.

I haven't been here for long but there's a pretty comprehensive toy shop at Horizon Plaza on Ap Lei Chau and I reckon they might have some.

I'll be heading down with the family - just as soon as I can figure out how to stretch the squid thinly enough.

Slightly OT, but I saw a box of those lizards-on-a-stick down in Sheung Wan last summer that was absolutely teeming with insects. I'm not sure if that's a good thing for those who intend to ingest those lizards.
