PURE Fitness, Music = Crap

Dreaded the site of a flat-battery iPod, faced Pure Fitness headphoneless, musicless, at the mercy of the CD Changer - nearly drove me mad with all the rubbish they play, walked out after far too much Kylie Live in London DVD...

lol. Fitness First Sheung Wan actually has some fairly decent music at times. Never ceases to amaze me.

I train hard so I often feel queasy already, the absolutely horrible music in the gym nearly put me over the high ledge!

The audio system furthermore has no balls whatsoever, yet the music from the classes is gutsy - I could feel the bass from a distance away, shame the same can't be said of the rest of the gym!

Tell me about it. I workout at Fitness First in Quarry Bay, and 'conveniently' placed at the weights area are two tv's showing childrens shows and these canto soaps. Makes my muscles shrink just thinking about it...

Funny how so many guys just sit watching those shows instead of lifting those weights!!

Hmmm..me think preference is very subjective, your best bet will be to bring your own ipod with your own favourite musics! Some other members may think YOUR choice of music is crap too...just my 2 cents!

That's true. You can drown out music you don't like if you have headphones on. If you work out with a partner/partners, that's not really gonna work though...

Workout myself, annoys me when I take people to the gym cause firstly, everyone has their own take on what to do and not, and will NOT accept guidance or advice, essentially, everyone thinks they are an expert when they go to the gym and genuinely strike everything contrary to their most of the time incorrect hearsay. Secondly, I have never had a truly productive workout with anyone else cause I just end up chatting or having someone there just acts as a catalyst to go sit in the pool!

I work out with my brother, and he lets me dictate what we do. he lifts lighter than me, but we're built the same way and we're both growing and getting stronger with every workout. Interestingly, he deadlifts more than me, but I lift heavier on every other exercise. I need more posterior chain work. We do talk, but we work out seriously. It's actually a really good thing, cuz without me, he'd probably never make it to the gym, and pushing him to get his ass up motivates me too.
