MSN messenger on Firefox

Are there any add-ons to use an MSN ID for chatting on Firefox? I use yahoo and gmail IDs for chatting but my gf insists on using her MSN ID. When I try to install Windows Messenger or MSN messenger, I get a message that IE must be installed first. I refuse to bring IE back onto my computer. What can I do?

You could try something like Trillian or one of the many third party MSN compatible applications.

I've used trillian for 4 or 5 years. The biggest problem it has is that when you have 15 or 20 windows open (even tabbed) it sits there eating cpu for no reason.

It seems to waste the CPU managing the scrolling text on the bottom of each window.

I recommend Miranda over Gaim (due to huge fonts that eat up your whole screen) and Trillian for being a CPU pig.
