Post Public transportation of dogs

DOG ADVISE NEEDED: Moving to Kowloon Tung area of Hong Kong next month with a very happy, well trained & beyond friendly 3 year old Britney dog. He is approxiately 40 lbs. Apartment and landlord has been pre-approved. We are aware of most of HK's Do's & Don't rules. As well as respecting others in being a dog owner. My wife will not be working and plans to spend the majority of her time at home. My specific questions is: > Can we take our dog in a Taxi, or local mini-bus for a outing ? Such as to the vet, dog groomer, airport and/or an appropriate place which to give our dog walking exersise. I believe the KCR & MTR are out of bounds. Thank you in advance for any thoughts - Have a great day ! Steve & Amy...!!!

Public transport:
Taxi ONLY unless a "guide dog" for blind /deaf
OR
call a "dog friendly" van company

Re- taxis, best ordering one and letting them know you will have dog as occasionally will get refused by some drivers.

Technically taxi drivers are not supposed to refuse to take a dog, but some do. There is a $5 surcharge for any animal in a cab. I haven't found it to be much of a problem though and my dog is huge.

Aside from taxis and the van transport that you can call, dogs are not permitted on public transport (MTR, busses, mini-busses, etc.).

Taxis and mini-buses are both fine for dogs (at least I've never had either refuse to take a dog in the year since I've had mine).

Mini-buses are fine if you can get the dog(or cat) in a bag.

You won't get a Brittany in the minibus...

You've walked your dog onto a minibus without being stopped?
