Question French DVDs

Which online site is better for
buying children dvds & movie dvds that
have both French audio and English audio selection ? in terms of selection and overall costs

amazon, amazon canada, amazon uk, amazon France or others

Also looking for suggestion on famous classical stories, kids stories from France too.

Thanks a lot for help

Parentheses, the French library in Wellington Street, LKF, has a good selection. You can rent DVD's there as well, and also at the Alliance Française (Wanchai or Jordan). Otherwise fnac.fr or amazon.fr both are just as reputable and roughly the same price wise.
France has a good selection of audiobooks for kids, like the "Marlene Jobert" collection, which is very successful, or "Henri Des".

Famous classical stories and kids stories? It really depends for what sex and age, and level of French.

what do you think of the selection here ?
http://amazon.ca/dvd-dvds-doccasion-...F8&node=952796

is amazon.fr still the best for
dual-audio dvds ?

>> France has a good selection of audiobooks

available at online sites for order too?

>> what sex and age

M > 9

>> and level of French.

if it is dual audio, he can enjoy the English narration first, thus i guess difficulty is not an obstacle.

I wouldn't recommend on buying any of the canadian films on your amazon canada collection : the french canadian accent is so strong that even french people have difficulty understanding it!

If you subscribe to NOW TV, there is a good french channel called TV5 which has a a good selection of programs and films, including many with english subtitles. They have great childrens programs in the mornings and afternoons.

My kids' favourite french program is a great tv science program called "C'est pas sorcier", you can get it off Demonoid. They show it on TV5 on weekends, in the morning. Otherwise aside from the usual american crap, they enjoy all french movies with the actor "Louis de Funes", he's our french Peter Sellers, and the French cartoons "Lucky Luke", "Titeuf", "Asterix", and "Tintin". I'm pretty sure you can get Asterix and Tintin at HMV, and I saw them recently in Shenzen, if you know what I mean.

Yes audiobooks are available on line, on fnac.fr and amazon.fr. They have them at Parentheses for the same cost roughly if you include postage and handling off those sites.

A good source of second-hand French books and movies is the French International School end of year fair - you just missed it! You can find second hand French books for adults at the Stanley Market second hand bookshop.
