Need a suit made quickly

My friend is in town until Sunday and suddenly decided to buy a tailor-made suit and some shirts. Which of the quickie tailors offer the best product at a good price?

Go see Ricky or his associates

Chinese Custom Tailor
21E Hankow Rd, TST, Kowloon
Tel: 2314 7064 or Tel: 2724 2066

Always able to deliver with friendly service and resonable costs but keep in mind cost is typically depends on the material choosen. He'll ask for you to come for at least one or two fittings over the next few days (common - espically if is a proper tailored suit)

IMO it's never a good idea to rush these things (and many tailors won't), but as Alby says, if you must then make sure you get at least two fittings to make sure that it is right.

The thing is some or rather most of the tailors here screw up even if u go for 3rd or 4th fitting and alterations they still cannot measure up....

Its worst when u are in a hurry and thye still have to make things worst by saying its alright when its not...

Sorry really bad experiences by my friends and myself here...

Often....what you pay...is what you get...

I'v tried several tailors and many of them indeed screw up and require several fittings (If they offer you more than 2 fittings to me it says they are a shitty tailor).

A good tailor focuses on the original measurement and takes great care in his craft. Probably the best tailor I've had in Hong Kong is Johnny Yuen (He was a Contractor to British Royal Forces for over 20 years).

One Fitting (The initial measurement was perfect and the fitting required almost no alterations).

Suit (with 2 trousers) + shirt done in Two Weeks

Price: about $7,800 (IMHO worth every penny)

Yuen's Tailor
2nd Floor Shop 23, Escalator Link Alley
80 Des Voeux Rd (central)
2815 5388

Unfortunately I don't think he'll do a rush job like your friend needs. Probably better off with the TST tailors.

Yuen's is usually good, if a bit inconsistent (my last experience wasn't so good).

If you want a rush job, William Chang on 6 or 8th floor 38 Hankow Road in TST does a reasonable job very cheaply (around 2500 for a suit).

I'd agree with the above- multiple fittings are desirable. Your friend might get lucky though and it'll fit first time.

jgl, Can you please PM me with your last experience at Yuen's....I'm just curious because I was about to go back there this week for another suit. Now I'm not so sure... Thanks!

Trust me noy every day that money solves the problem?

Doesnt mean that u pay camels u get hugo boss... sometimes u get the standard worst than G2000...

Seriously my friends paid good money for good material and a famous shop near LKF

But they screw up even thou they claim they have more than 15 years experience...

Let me dig up the tailor's name....it was so bad that I cleared it of all our heads
