Is it advisable to buy used phones in hongkong?.. i will be going there again from the philippines next week and was wondering if i should buy used phones there. I want a good phone but dont have the budget to buy a new one.

Should be OK to buy a used phone if that is all you want. If you are looking for something with more extensive pda functions and/or camera abilities I would steer away from a used model unless you know the seller. Too many things to go wrong.

Price depends on a number of factors such as age and brand of the mobile. There are numerous of used phone retailers and wholesales on the Ground Floor and First Floor of ChungKing Mansion, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

You can shop around and baragain for what you want. Makesure if you have a particular phone in mind makes sure that you know how much that phone costs new before you buy it use. Also, before completing the transaction have them demonstrate that it works.

I bought a used Nokia for my use in mainland China from a vendor on the 1st Floor of ChungKing and asked that they include a 45 day exchange/repair policy hand written on the receipt if anything went wrong with the phone. Well, after about 20+ days the #9 on the key pad kept sticking and went back with the receipt and the vendor fixed it for me...haven't had a problem since.
