Cheongsams??

Hi,

It has been my dream to own a perfectly fitted Cheongsam long before I moved to HK even. However, now that I'm here, I don't really know where to get one.

I would appreciate any info on tailors who can make made-to-measure ones or shops that sell ready-made ones and can then alter them to fit you like a dream.

Also I'm sure there's a huge range but how much can I expect to pay for one?

Thanks!

xx
Chlo

Go to Shenzen and get one made at the Lo Wu Centre. Much cheaper than in HK.

Cheaper cost, but poorer quality.

Additionally, HK dressmakers/tailors have a better concept of quality and are willing to fix it free whenever - so if you loose weight or gain weight or the zips need to be fixed they will do it but Shenzhen tailors are not always so willing to do this.

Jennyh14 is on a distinguished road
Check out Shanghai Tang on Peddar Street or in Pacific Place. They cost a bit more but quality should be excellent.

Smile

The other day I was just killing time while waiting to meet someone and I went into Chinese Arts and Craft at the Star House by the Star Ferry - I was impressed by the types of silk they had on their fabric roles and am now thinking of going back getting the material and having a Cheongsam made for me.

There is also a Chinese Arts and Craft in Wan Chai and near the intersection of Jordan Rd and Noathan Rd take MTR to Jordan go out exit A cross the street so the Watson's next to the it is Chinese Arts and Craft as you walk up Nathan Rd passing the Watson's.

There is also a larger Yue Hwa at the corner of Nathan and Jordan Rd. Take the MTR to Jordan go out exit A take a left and it is right there.
