Part of the fun of being out of country is seeing, uhm, weird stuff. Last time I was in HK, my friend Mike and I were at the Bridge and he stumbled into a side closet which wasn't exactly the men's room...or maybe it actually was, but it made the bartender upset when he showed up on the security monitor doing his business there:

What other bars do you know of there that have comedy value potential? So far New Makati has my vote but I'm sure there are others that really top it:

I have the proverbial two weeks to have fun and frolic with no set schedule so I'm up for any and all suggestions for funky, freaky stuff.

Also, as a side note, I'm looking for all kinds of funky vinyl and capsule toys like these http://wootini.com/gallery/view_albu...ame=Toycon2004
...do you know of any good shops outside of those, say, in CTMA? (e.g., where Michael Lau's gallery is at [6th floor of some bldg somewhere], etc.) I know a couple of people I met at Toycon who own stores there, but it'd be nice if anybody knew of any out of the way shops. One of the things I'd like to do while I'm there is scout out interesting new stuff for Mike (as he happens to own a toy store here)--sometimes obscure stuff can be really cutting edge.

As far as dives go, I haven't had trouble finding some, uhm, interesting bars. Amazingly, as far as non-dives go, I was really impressed with the jazz band at Ned Kelly's last night. Those guys are a lot of fun.
