Shared appartment

Hi,

I am a spanish guy, moving to Hk for 2 months. I am trying to find a shared appartment around Wanchai, Central, Causeway Bay, Sheung wan for around 3500$Hk.

I checked all the websites I found in this forums..but not many appartments are available. Any recomendations? Any other sites I could check? Or any places I can check when I arrive to Hk and stay in a hostel for the first days?

Thanks a lot,

Andy

Yep recommend that you find a hotel/hostel or a place on www.globalfreeloaders.com for a few nights. When you arrive look for various people offering flatshares.

Expats check the following for flatshares in HK:

Honestly and bluntly speaking, HK$3500 per month maybe the problem as two or three apartments in the areas where you have stated are between HK$8000 to HK$20000+ so if someone was to share half of the flat with you they would the rent in half so the min.n rent would be approx. H$4000/mnth without utilities. If you are going to be here just 2 months you most likely you will need a furnished room which a person will charge a bit extra for as well.

Even if you were to stay in Chung King Mansions or Mirador Mansions in TST, Kowloon or Lucky House in Jordan, Kowloon for 1 month you are looking at approx.HK$800 to HK$1200/wk for a single room. You maybe able to find a hostel like room in Jordan around Temple Street/Shanghai Street/ Reclamination Street or in Mong Kok from a local property agent for HK$3500/mnth but you will need to be here in person for such a transaction. These are some housing travel websites that typical do for short term but rare for long term you maybe get lucky.

www.globalfreeloaders.com
www.coachsurfing.com
www.hospitalityclub.org
http://joomla.servas.org/

I suggest you reconsider your housing budget if you want to live in the areas you have stated and/or expand your search to include Kowloon-side and the New Territories.

Also, you need to check the websites given egularly and daily as people are always posting - not just look once or twice and drop it. Plus, it is the middle of the month so activity is minimal - more activity happens at the end of the month / beginning of the month.

Actually..I stayed there 3 years ago, and I was sharing a nice appartment in Wanchai for 3500$hkx2 people... so, it is possible ^^U

Anyways, thanks a lot for ur answers and concern, I'll take it into account, and look for appartments in other areas a lil bit further from there,..

Do you know any place in Hk where to look for shared appartments?

Check out this posting -

http://www.geoexpat.com/forum/lookin...on-t19837.html

Although, a studio rental in TST possibly the landlord from where Noah leased has others available.

Off line would be HK Magazine postings, SCMP classifieds and neighborhood Park -n- Shop and Wellcome bullentin boards.

Possibly in the Po Fuk Lam near HKU as well.
