Mobile Phone Plans

Hey,
I'm using CSL prepaid phone cards & for a while they were working out alright, but lately I have been using my phone more & more. It's getting annoying running out of credit & having to run to 7-11 & buy a card.

I am looking for a service plan that offers me a reasonable amount of minutes, but most importantly unlimited (or a lot of) text messages per month. Price isn't really a huge issue to me, I'm just looking for something that will give me what I need & not having to worry about receiving the bill at the end of the month & having exceeded my limit.

So, if anyone is happy with their company or knows of a good company to use I would appreciate it so much!

Thanks!

SMS pretty much just within HK, when I do text out of the country it's pretty rare.

I heard that one two free isn't that great, & the same with vodaphone. I know that I had a friend who used Sunday (not sure what plan) but every month they got slapped with a massive bill for going over their sms/minutes.

I guess I just want the best bang for my buck :P

When I lived in the US a few years ago they had really nice plans where you paid something like $40 a month with a good number of minutes & unlimited texting. I'm just hoping there is something like that here!

Thank you for the replies so far

About a year ago I switched from People's to 3 Mobile as I was given a free phone when I signed a one year contract - that is really easy to get out of if I wish. There was a promotion when I signed up.

For long distance I use my mobile and IDD 1529 - I have been using this since May to call internationally and cannot even begin to tell about the immense savings.

What is your goal? You say bang for buck. Is it ok to not have as good of coverage some places for a better price then?

Price: Peoples and Sunday are normally the best. Sometimes New World and 3 have good plans too.

Service: CSL's brands or Vodafone.

Your friend got slapped with big bills for going over their limit because they didn't sign up for a high enough plan. All companies charge you a lot for going over.

Your should consider which type of SMS you send before you select your plan.

Most of the company offer very low or free sms for intra-network.

For inter-network the charges will be a bit higher. Sometime you have to pay higher amount for sending SMS compare with make a call. For my mobile, if I send a inter-network SMS, they will charge HKD0.70; if I make a inter-network call, it only cost me HKD0.25/min for peak, HKD0.12/min for off peak. Beware, the receiver have to pay for their part. But 1 minute can talk much much more than a SMS.
