Unhappy Helping my boyfriend to find a job in Hong Kong

Hi there,
Im a Hong Kong citizen living in Melbounre. My boyfriend is an Australia. We both really really want to move to Hong Kong to live as my family is there. Im quite confident that i can get a job there. However, im very concerned whether he will be able to get a job in hk. Should we apply for the visa first?(dependent visa?) before we look for work for him? Do you think it may help him getting a job easier. Also, do you know any resources that may provide work placement for him? He can only speak very little cantonese and haven't got a degree. But he is doing brilliantly in his company here with lots of experience in sales and marketing, and hospitality. im really concerned and anxious as we really want to move there. and we can't do it unless he can find a job.

He can only get a dependent visa if you are married. This would certainly make finding a job easier. Otherwise he has to find an employer who would sponsor his Employment Visa, and that might be hard given his lack of qualifications.

hello

As Berry said qualifications are required. Does he own the company in Australia?

Question Hi again

Thank you for the reponse.
He does not own the company. But his dad does. Why?
Do you reckon he should try to get a position from companies here that they will send him to work over there? So if he does have the dependant visa, what kind of opportunities do you think he would have here??

hello

It is difficult to say if he has a good chance of success just based on his personal information as it also depends on the company in Hong Kong who is willing to sponsor him.

For example it is better if the company is well established and also on how many foreign national and local staff they have working for them in Hong Kong.

Once he has been offered a position in Hong Kong I can then review the case and let you know what are the chances.
