Megabox open

Not much in the news but opened beginning of the month:

http://megabox.com.hk/eng/

Its the worlds tallest shopping mall, 19 floors for shops, the others are offices.

The ice rink is currently hosting the 2007 world (juniors?) 5's ice hockey which is interesting to watch.

Only a few of the shops and restaurants are open though, there are 60 teams playing the hockey with parents and friends all about.

Its in Kowloon Bay and you can take a bus or walk a bit, not really that convenient to get to.

I spoke to my mum on the phone tonight and she mentioned this was on the news in Aussie. She seemed to think the whole place was open based on the news report... I was under the impression only some of the stores were open?

Probably about quarter of the stores and half the restaurants are currently open.

grandcider is on a distinguished road
Went over to megabox today. None of the shops on the lower levels are open yet. B&Q, Spotlight, Best (a huge Japanese electronics/appliance store), the UA cinema and the food court are open, along with some restaurants and smaller stores.

yup - the only active stores are bnq, spotlight and the ice rink.

food outlets are limited for now- so expect long lines and wait for tables during peak hours

would rather wait until more stores open. bnq is over two floors but disappointed by the mish mash of items on sale i.e. floors, tiles, furniture, plates, plastic ware etc. general english titles but descriptions remain in chinese. nothing spectacular and exciting compared to what can be found on lockhart road
