Burning Wii disks

Hello

I have seen some postings here about burning Wii games but I am getting nowhere.

I have a US version Wii from Sham Shui Po bought this week. Using Copy2DVD to burn the ISO's to good quality disks but so far no success.

Anyone suggest where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Have you managed to extract the DVD image to hard disk yet?

It is a .iso file. These I usually use something like DVD Decrypter to burn to disk. Works fine for PS2 games and videos. Not working for Wii games though.

Wii disks can only be read by a small number of LG dvd roms. Once you have the iso burning should be straight forward using Nero or ImgBurn.

I have the iso file. They are PAL versions. Burnt to disk but disk can't be read by the Wii.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes the US Wii will only play NTSC disks. You need to upgrade the Wiikey.

It is chipped. Is this not the same thing? I thought the dude in SSP said it used the Wiikey when I asked what chip but can't be certain.

Any way I can tell or sort this situation?

Can anyone PM me some good 'backup' torrent sites? Haven't managed to get an account on the black cats one.

Thanks

If it is the Wiikey then you can try updating it. The update is available as a torrent. The update will only work on the Wiikey installation so is failsafe from that point of view. Personally, I don't see the point as there are enough NTSC games around.

elistan is on a distinguished road
If you have an NTSC-U Wii it is better if you burn ntsc-u games for it. Some PAL games will work but you still have to deal with whether your TV accepts/supports PAL signal.

As a general rule, people are swearing by verbatim dvd-r disks. I personally use Philips dvd-r disks with no problems.

Try burning the isos using Nero or Imgburn and burn it at the lowest speed that works for you. I personally burn at 4x to 6x.

The problem was the games I was burning were PAL and mine is a US Wii. Won't play PAL games with whatever it has been chipped with.

No problem with any media burning at 16x.
