Reliable pet sitter

I'm looking for a pet sitter. I have searched this forum and found a few. But I am hesitant to give my house keys to a stranger. Has anyone had issues with this?
Do you have a reliable recommendation? Thanks.

I would be more worried about leaving my pet with a stranger.

Do you have a vet? If so, they often have a referral network of pet sitters. Its a good start because the sitters a vet could recommend have likely watched other animals that use that vet also, and the vet will have likely heard about any problems with the sitter.

I've never personally had issues w/ pet sitters, but I might just have been lucky. I've used the same pet sitter in HK since I arrived almost 3 years ago & he keeps my keys. For anyone you hire I'd suggest you interview them & ask them for references. You should be able to get a pretty good feel for the person that way. Also, if your building has a manager and you're really worried about the keys, just ask the manager to keep the keys & the pet-sitter can pick-up and drop-off daily when they come to your house.
