take a breath everyone....

it's not that the animals are being killed that is causing the problem, it's that they are being killed inhumanely.

who in their right mind wouldn't object to that?

personally, i could never be a vegetarian. i love my meat too much (mmmmm. bbq'd t-bone steak!!! YUMMY!!!) however, i would be upset if i knew that they were being as cruel as possible to the animal.

some would argue that killing the animal at all is evil. i don't agree with this. but i do think that it should be as painless as possible for the animal involved.

no one is saying that children dying of malnutrition around the world is not a MAJOR concern, or that killing these animals in china is more of a travesty.

the two are unrelated and not mutually exclusive.

why not fight injustice WHERE-EVER it is found?
getting mad and yelling at each other over the internet is going to solve absolutely nothing and is not going to garner either of you any friends.

yes, skinning animals alive is a travesty and shouldnt' be allowed.

yes, children are dying all over the world from war, famine, aids, and poverty.

why can't you both agree on those points and move on to trying to solve the problems???

Using the F word is a naive way to express yourself. Even the 3-year-old knows the "Ash-oooo" thingie in "Meet the Falkers"! Learn some real vocab before you flame people, ok!?

Oh, well I have posted it and so what? Shoot me!? I am scared!

Grow up, yoyo!
First of all my use of the F word (while fully unneccesary), was not used to "flame" you but simply expressed my deep dissatisfaction with your geopolitical ignorance of human suffering. If I did want to "flame" you, I assure you I would gladly fall back on a more colorful choice of vocabulary more suited to your insignificant intellect.

Enjoy:

why is it wrong to eat dogs but not cows? for us the difference is that dogs are pets. but not everyone holds the same ideals.

if they choose to eat dog, that's up to them. personally, i think it's awful and could never do it. i'm a dog lover (i'd have to be, with the business that we are in). i'm also a horse lover, so the idea that some people eat horse is not a nice one either.

in many places they don't eat pork. that doesn't mean that i'm a bad person because i love my bacon. others don't eat beef. as i said earlier, i love my t-bone steaks. i'm still not a bad person.

what you SHOULD have the objetion to is the fact that they are killing the poor animals in such an awful way and dragging their pain and suffering out needlessly.

and no, thank you. i do not need to see a video of what they do, my imagination is good enough in this instance.

Yes, actually I do. Actually unlike people who just run their mouths off, I actually spent some of my time doing volunteer work at homeless shelters and Habitat for Humanity. I also have many friends currently working in Darfur with Mercy Corps and although I can't be there personally, I do what I can financially. Probably one of the worst things however, was seeing people die first hand from Chernobyl Radiation poisoning (I was only 100km away when it blew up in 1986). Luckily for me, my family got me out of there.

I'm sorry, what exactly have YOU done? I still haven't read about any of your philanthropic work.

Really? Looks to me like you've been really busy China bashing for the past day:

Chinese toothpaste contains antifreeze? - Although you didn't originally post this one, certainly kept you busy.

As far as I'm concerned you aren't contributing anything worthwile to the Geoexpat community and if it was up to me, I'd ban you a while ago.

Actually, my original college major was Molecular Genetics, and if I did want to educate myself, "pal", I wouldn't do it from an on-line post written by some douchebag.
