Exclamation Happy Valley Internet Service Provider

HELP! I have moved to Hong Kong for about a month now yet I still can't use internet. PCCW/Netvigator is suppose to provide me a line by the end of last month. They oversubscribed my building and they have to run new lines to it. I'm extremely frustrated. I have tried to call other companies Hutchison, and they don't provide service to me because I live in an old building, and neither does Hong Kong Broadband.
HELP! Does anyone know any other internet provider that covers Happy Valley?

Most of the DSL providers will end up giving you a line from PCCW.

Might want to try iCable. http://www.i-cable.com/

Alternatively, go to SmarTone-Vodafone......

Mobile Broadband. $2000 for a modem or data card. As little as $100 per month for 50MB or $488 per month contract for unlimted local usage subject to Acceptable Usage Policy. Running HSDPA at up to 3.6Mbps. Use in laptop or PC. Complete coverage through out HK, no need to look for wifi hotspots.

And the best bit is - you can go to our stores today, buy it and be up and running immediately. No more waiting for PCCW, installation men, etc........SmarTone-Vodafone Mobile Broadband. Broadband to Go!

Btw, you've probably guessed I work for SmarTone-Vodafone. Happy to take pms to answer any questions.

Cheers
RV

When 've had this kind off situation what i have done is used wireless bridges and narrow angle antennas. You get the broadce installed in another building to which you have line of sight. Then hook the wireless bridge to the broad band router.
I can rent you the bridges and antennas to get access your home for up to 1km from your home. Also ideal when you need move into a new office and
You still need to find a neighbour who is going to let you install the broadce line and hang an antenna near a window.

Lightbulb Think laterally...................

Well, it is said "Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."

So, what's up with using "DIAL-UP" as a temporary measure?

Yes, it is slow and cost-ineffective - but it can be used from anywhere !

Of course, one could attempt to hitch a [free] ride on an unprotected Wi-Fi connection.

Mind you, I'm not advocating this latter connection - seems that one person have ended up in court - even when the Wi-Fi owner was NOT in the slightest bit bothered by the "hitch-hiker".

Well, that's the Yankee "Fuzz" for you.
