Well, somehow I think some expats treats local girl as China Doll toy, they didn't really want to develop a relationship .. can I hear some serious point of view? and like some say HK guys don't date foreigner cos their english is not good enough to communicate perhaps? let's hear your voice or share your experience

I am an Italian guy (29) used to be in HK every 3 months for business...actually, I like (physically and not) Asian girls but up to now I haven't got any opportunity to start at least an interesting speech despite business.

Someone told me that it is easy to "meet" friend (girls) just showing money and paying bills but I haven't tried and I am not sure I will do it.

In the end: never consider Asian girls like China Doll Toy but up to now It has been a bit difficult to start any kind of relationship (anything more than a drink)...

...may be because I am always out alone or I choose the wrong pubs/bars.

I think the language is one thing, and family is one thing, most traditional HK family do not prefer their daughter to date a western guy cos most of them not really serious for a relationship, which is true, u know. Most of them just want to try a chinese girl like the way they go crazy in Bangkok to try a Thailand girl, or in Wanchai to try a Philipina......and Hong Kong women sees Philipina as servant, and Thai girl as prositute (I am not being discrimination, but it's the fact ) so in HK girls' mind, Foreigners mostly are playboy type, decent HK girl prefer dating Locals better....

if you are going to date an HK guy/girl, it would be best if they are well educated and fluent in english. i met my girlfriend a year ago, and she impressed me with speech that included words i rarely or even never use. this need for deeper communication must be satisfied in order to sustain a relationship. also, i think that HK women tend to love shopping, but luckily, mine does not at all. we instead opt for exploring the city and country parks in our free time. parents are conservative, it just takes time to win their hearts.

Well, with my respect to all mind, what i do read were wrong, wrong ,wrong, HK family and M.or F located in HK and born there, they are most of 65% open mind on relation and friendships and family willing. the problem are not with Language,, many can and understand other forigne language, English not the one we talking on.. so if you like to anlayse the condition, we can say so.. 1. HK people before Feb 2002 was more lovely to forigner.. after this date many things change,,, what are Feb 2002.. seak after and you will know.. ( reason on mainland still love forigner), 2. been seriousely, and don't contact who talking alot on cell phone ( here the secert in HK ppl), 3. find with your age. don't move down alot, but you can high age dating, 4. don't pay bills, they have enough and maybe more as you had, so let money out of realation..5. don't care at any wqy on glasses they wear,, many Euro lands wear it.. feel of them beauty source and side. 5. try to talk some love words to let them hear even you wre wrong on tone.. it bring especially affect deep in hearts... 6. M.or F, don't walk with out your hand touch your partner,, it is key of proud and love same time... then good luck... and feel the real relation with HK ppl. these were the right when you try the points..

Dude, don't take this the wrong way, but I have absolutely no idea what you were trying to say. Could you possibly give us another explanation or maybe a hypothetical example, perhaps?

With respect, all of you are wrong.wrong.wrong.

HK families, male or female living and born in HK are 65% open-minded about relationships.

The problem is not the langauge barrier since many people can understand a foreign langauage. English is not the only other language spoken in HK.

So to analyse the situation:

1. Hk people were more friendlier to foreign people before feb 2002, after this many things changed. what is special about feb 2002?, do some research. (CLUE, this is why Mainland Chinese people still love foreigners)

2. be serious and don't talk to other people too much on your phone whilst bneing on a date with your BF/GF. This is a HK people secret.????

3. Find someone your own age and don't go for someone much younger than you. But it's ok to find someone older than you. (OR, if you are old it is still ok for you to date other people your own age).

4. Don't offer to pay any bills. HK families might have more money that you do. Don't let money become an issue in your relationship.

5. Don't joke about HK peoples glasses.????.Many people in Europe wear these glasses and HK people think that they are quite beautiful/nice

5 (again). talk sweet words (in cantonese) to your bf/gf even when you know that you can't say it right. They will think that it is great even if you try.

6. when walking with them make sure that you hold their hand. This means that you are proud to be with them and that you love each other.
