I've been living here for 4 years now, like it very much. living at Coastal Skyline to be precise, with view at the airport. Shopping for groceries is ok. The cinema at walking distance is a great plus for me, i mostly buy the ticket 5 minutes before showing start so I can pick the seat without someone sitting in front of me. Hiking at Lantau is nice and safe, so far no reports of mugging here. Many ppl think of polluted air when you say tung chung, but that's only for a few days a year. If ppl want to stay out of Tung Chung because of it, fine for me, the more space for me. I travel about 3-4 times a year, and its nice to be home within 45min after you land.

I dunno about that, by the time the plane taxi's and parks, they open the doors, you walk to immigration, go through immigration (which can take 15 minutes alone if you are a visitor) Wait for luggage and then walk through customs you are looking at 40 minutes or so at least. Don't try to say one can get home to Central in 5 minutes.

Well OK - but if you arrive at gate 1, you're first off the plane, you're a resident, you're travelling with cabin baggage only and you get to the train just as it's about to leave then it is quite normal to be getting off the airport express in Central about 35-40 minutes after the plane's door opens.

people do slag off Tung Chung because of the pollution, but, sad that I am, I have been following the API readings for the past few weeks and Tung Chung has consistently had the lowest pollution readings for about 2 weeks.

Does this mean the rumours aren't true, or is it just that the pollution meter is broken ;-)

If you go to the march 2007 records, Tung Chung has 2 days of the highest readings.

Funny how ppl always remember the bad days only.
While mostly the air in Tung Chung is not bad at all.
