Cat / Kitty Litter recommendations

Hi

Wondering what brand of kitty litter you use?
Is the clumping cat litter or crystal cat litter better?

Thanks
Kahling

My feline friend has recycled paper pellets as litter. they don't create mud, powder, dust etc, are recycled, and they don't hurt your feet if u happen to walk on any litter that has found its way onto the tiles. to make it last a bit longer, her litter tray has an insert mesh/perforated liner, that lets all "number ones" run through without soaking the litter...

i dont like the clumping litter or the fake crystal stuff... nor does my cat

I assume the crystal stuff you're talking about is silica gel. I like it, smell is undetectable until it's saturated, and doesn't need to be changed anywhere near as often as the clumping kind.

Catsan is what we use; it clumps the best by far. However, it has the tendency to track, and we have to vacuum every morning (the track where Kitty walks from her box to her food )

It can be bought in 9 lbs bags from Park n Shop, etc.

Tidy Cats is what I use, absorbs smells immediately and easy to scoop, however there are bits all over the floor from the cats feet!

We used to use that, but I found with the humidity we were having to change it too often, and the cats didn't like it that much (though were happy with it back in the UK).

So we switched to Cat's Best 'oko plus' (I think it's german). It's a clumping one, but it doesn't track anywhere near as much as the others, and the cats seem to like it.

I use Woody Cat. I've tried the sand stuff, the paper stuff (light blue pellets which turns to blue gel like blob when wet) and find Woody Cat to be quite acceptable. It's basically wood pellets that turns to dust when wet. It does stink up (wood flavor) the house if you don't have ventilation though, so the odor capture ain't that great and it's safe to flush it in the toilet as well.

anyway, i clean the litter every night so it's not a problem.
