Smile Paint Shops

Can anyone tell me where I can go to buy some good quality home paint? Also, is it common to be able to pick up paint chips? What is more commonly used, Latex or Oil based paints? I've been trying to google locations, but can't seem to find anything! As most things in Hong Kong, seems like it is impossible to find places unless it is by word of mouth. Thank you all for your help.
BTW: I'm in Tung Chung, so any place more convinently located to here would be appreciated, but Central is also okay.

Thanks Rani.. A friend of mine actually told me about this place a few days ago. Am planning on going there over the next few days. Does anyone know if this place is open in the evenings?

Plenty of paint shops can be found in the area bounded by the streets Argyle, Portland, Shanghai, and Bute, Mong Kok. Other hardware can be found here too (bathroom and kitchen, power tools, metal and wood).

A googlemap link to the area

BTW to answer your other question, the commonly used interior paint is acrylic. Popular brands include Dulux and Nippon.

On HK Island the area for paints (and bathrooms, kitchens, etc etc) is Lockhart Road (the bit beyond the bar district and down into Causeway Bay).

ODORLESS paint (low-VOC)

I went to the Nippon Paint near Wan Chai MTR. You take Exit A1 to Lockhart Road, turn right, and walk about two blocks to the Nippon Colormony store. You'll walk past a ton of little renovation stores. Nippon Paint is the only brand locally that stocks non-toxic paint.

Eco-paint is the kind of thing that's so good you wonder why people still make the old toxic paint. It costs the same! It doesn't smell at all, so you can move in as soon as it dries, and the workers don't have to breathe the fumes either. The only limitation is that it is only available in white or pale colors.

One paint executive even did a publicity stunt where he drank some. Regular paint is pretty toxic stuff, and low-VOC paint just...isn't. In the US, low-VOC paint costs $1 more per gallon, and I think it's the same here. Anyway, my landlord did not charge me extra for my request.

It's called Odourless Paint, and they even have little samples that you can sniff to prove the lack of fumes.
