Broadband and NOW TV

I'm moving and will have to get broadband and cable. How much do you guys pay for these services? Is there a special or freebies that they offer? Is there a difference between calling up PCCW and talking to the PCCW guy on the street?

Talk to the guys on the street, they have deals to do.

FYI
Don't believe they are telling you the best deal and have a close look at the contract paper which will reveal all.
I got the package here in Tai Po this year after relocating back after a year away . Signed up for the BB and got NOW basic channels with 12 months free on 2 premium channels ( HBO & Chinese Movie Channel for the missus ) thrown in on an 18 month deal. It was 40% cheaper than when I was here before.
They have a 24 month deal with more freebies also.
Batter them senseless and get real value.

NOW TV generally seems to have favourable reviews/comments...you can also apply for the TVB Pay Vision feed via NOW TV giving you a load of local TV channels plus a select few English language ones...plus French and Scottish live football if you're into football. I found the guys on the street tend to offer the same deals you can get by phoning the hotline...except they may offer you a free umbrella or computer speakers.

You mention Cable...I hope you mean cable internet computer connection as opposed to Cable TV. Cable TV seems to be subject to no end of criticism. Todays' SCMP has yet another published complaint Re. Cable TV. Many of my friends have had trouble (awful customer relations...stubborn and unreasonable attitudes etc.) with Cable and would prefer never to deal with them again...plus they've lost English Premier League. They claim to have won the rights to the next World Cup...M'mm...I wonder whether they'll still be in business by then?

By the way, with NOW TV, make sure you check on their hotline that they actually supply sufficient bandwidth to your area/building as you may be dissapointed...they don't reach all areas yet.

No one has actually answered the question...how much do you pay?

I pay $238 for 8MB Broadband width with 2 free Now TV channels for 18 months contract length. This was in 2005. I have already finished my contract and am waiting to renew my contract on better terms...what deals are the rest of you getting and how much do you pay?
