| salary for middle office associate at tier us bank in hk I just got the offer at a top tier US bank in HK as a middle office associate. Not sure how much to ask for. Someone in a similar position can shed me a light? |

| Salary should be pretty much in line with what an associate would make in NY. Its the expat package that you need to negotiate. I've seen housing allowances alone around 40,000HKD/ month. |

| Thanks for the reply. But I will have no expat package. I will be treated as a loacl hire. I hold a dependent visa as my wife is a permanent resident. |

| without knowing level of experience i'd say 35-40k pm would be close |

| i have seen associates given pay of between 25k to 35k i guess. depends on how much they need you here... |

| With the way the market is moving, and assuming you have 4-5 years of relevant experience you should get about 700k pa or more. I have no idea where people are getting the 3-40k per month range from. Graduates in the back office and as totally fresh out of uni hires are getting 400k pa + so make sure you negotiate hard as all your future pay rises and bonuses are based off what you start on. |
