Moving to Hk

Hi ,

Has anyone heard of Tai Lam Chau?

Looks very peaceful, not much traffic or anything else, only real Chinese people and culture. Would not be the right place to live and try to assimilate -learn Cantonese
and cooking etc.?

I know the best walking track are around here too.
Not one of the ex pats we talked to know where it is, but I have found it on the web ,and looks very good to me.

Would appreciate any opinion.

Well it's a long way from the centre of things, but it all depends what you want to do I guess. If you don't need to commute or go out with mates to the pub then it might be OK. Although if you are close to the main road then you will have express buses into Central.

NW New Territories is by no means the most well known area for hiking trails - North East (Sai Kung Country Park), Lantau Island and others are better known, but of course there is some hiking out there.

Thank you for your reply. I will not be working, my husband will have to go to Kowloon, but he wants to live there. We only like goog foods plays and concerts etc. So I think it will suit us. My husband posted a thread this morning about buying a car, nice surprise for me. Nobody answered yet. I don't know if we should buy a small new or second hand. I understand one pays much more rego for older cars. Can anybody help please?
