Macau and HK$

I thought I heard that the HK$ is accepted in Macau. Any truth to that or just an internet rumor?

As said above you can use HKD in Macau. Sometimes though they will give you change in MOP - but we try and ask for HKD change.

I just use HKD whenever I go there. Never had an issue. Even with little shops and taxis

A word of caution, give up/spend/convert all your Macau Patacas (MOP) BEFORE returning to HK, as you will be hard pressed to find money changers willing to convert it, let alone other outlets willing to accept it.
