| | | How much do you pay for your BUSINESS broadband? I need to get connected at a commercial address and was wondering what kind of price I can bargain for. They (Netvigator) started by offering $478/month for 8mb connection on a 24 month contract with one wire and four wireless connections. Then they said $368 for a 6mb connection with four wireless and one wire. The cheapest one was $299 I think, for a 1.5mb connection with one wire only.
I think these are very expensive, so I was wondering if anyone else can report their better deals so I have something to shoot for.
This must be a BUSINESS account, not a residential. Any tips and/or recommendations of other companies would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nick | |

| | | Used to use Wharf T&T at less than $200/month for 2Mb. Then upgraded to multi-user with 8 static IP's which pushed price to $600/month. Been good reliable service with no downtime and very quickly back to service after Xmas earthquake, unlike our neighbours with PCCW business DSL! | |

| | | Business Netvigator Broadband I called PCCW up today to switch to a wireless plan and what they offered was:
HKD 628/mos - 24 mos contract
6MB/6MB
Doesn't seem like such a great deal after reading your post.
Perhaps pricing isn't uniform for the same service??
I'm on an old plan and already paying HKD 648/mos so I thought I was getting a better deal...
Here, check it out: | |

| | | we are currently paying for the 8M wired account at $988/month (18 month contract) but we called up and were told we can switch to a 8M wired AND wireless account for $720/month (24 month contract).
i still think thats expensive....and don't understand the logic behind it

| | | I pay under $200 per month. I think it's a 24 month contract . It's a one wired, 6 or 8Mbs connection and I setup my own wireless connection (using Linksys WRT54G router - about $400 for the unit), and have multiple users accessing the Internet at any given moment. | |

| | | we've been connected by PCCW Biz and now connecting by Hutchison Global Crossing (HGC).
HGC is about $450, 5Mb up and 5Mb down; about $540 for 10Mb up 10Mb down.
The speed sometimes go faster then 5Mb, i guess their bandwidth control policy is not really strict....
HGC is juz as stable as PCCW, and the CS quality is good too......
spend a bit time to negotiate, you can bargain for a cheaper contract....

| | So what's the difference if you get them to install a wireless router and you have to pay extra for that each and every month and you just going off to the shops and purchasing a wireless router yourself and installing it? Which would mean a one off cost and then you can access via wireless AND you pay the lower rate?
Both have the same end result, or do they? Quote:
