This is a bit of a long shot, but I got a taxi this evening from the Ferry Piers and on the back seat was a small leather purse of a (for me) unusual design. In the purse was a sum of Euros and various receipts from two European cities. Unfortunately there is nothing that identifies the owner.

If you think this was yours please PM me telling me which Euro cities and one or two of the items on the receipts and I will happily arrange to get the cash and the receipts (which could be equally valuable if want to claim some expenses) to you.

Thought about that - not worth the effort (knowing HKP it would take an hour or so to fill in the report). It's only a few hundred HK$. If no-one contacts me it will go to charity (probably Unicef on a CX flight).

You're certainly right about the HKP - they have one of the most inefficient crime recording systems I have ever seen. Stolen and lost property takes you through so many hoops that you would think that you had perpetrated the crime. Let's keep this thread at the top in the hope that someone connected to this site sees it.

Try calling the taxi company and leaving your name and number, in case the woman calls their lost and found to see if anyone turned it in.
