Aussie phone in HK

Hi

We'll be moving to HK soon and I was wondering if the standard Australian WDECT telephones will work there?

Thanks

Andrew

You'll need a new plug or cable to connect the base station to the wall socket (less that HK$10) but otherwise yes I believe so.

They will work but they are probably illegal. HK's OFTA has to approve all broadcast equipment. In practice this is ignored for landline handsets as can be seen by the popularity of imported Japanese/mainland Chinese cr*p.

By plug you mean power point, I assume? The actual RJ22 connection is the same, right.

Thanks for your help - I can see this forum (whole site) is going to be very helpful indeed

Oh - well in fact you'll need a plug adaptor for the AC supply as well. What I meant was the phone jack - HK uses UK-style phone jacks.
