i heard from many people that, 'modern classic' is really good. but you've got to look at many wedding photos to find the style that suits your personality. congratulations and good luck!

Do you want a wedding photographer or a place that does those packages with different outfits etc?

Thanks for the great replies. Most appreciated. I've emailed a couple of shops for prices, but I was looking around to see if anyone has had any good experience. I am basically looking for a studio for outdoor/indoor still portraits. I will need them to provide me with wedding dress, hair and makeup (as I don't want to bring all this stuff over from Canada). At the end of the day, I would like to have a wedding album made by them as well as a high resolution CD of all the pictures taken. Of course, I don't want to spend too much (under $15,000HK is best). My auntie suggest that I go back to Taiwan for the pictures, but I don't want to fly from place to place. Besides, I want to get the pictures done with and then be able to enjoy a vactaion in Hk!

Okay, I can tell you about my experience at the studio's in Kowloon Tong. One was Cite du Louvre and the other one was .... name escapes me, but Sammi used to be the model there. Anyways, they will all provide you with the services you are looking for, a selection of dresses and gowns (how many and what "grade" depends on the package you choose, of course more $ = more/better selection), makeup and hair services, and a photographer and lighting assistant to pose you and your significant other for the next 8 hrs or so. After about a week, you can come and select the xx shots your package entitles you to, out of the 100s taken that day. The salesgirls are trained to hardsell you on everything from the paper used in the album (uv protection, anyone?) to the smell when it's opened. Well maybe the smell is free, but everything else seems to have 15 or more options to choose from!

It will take a few months for them to put your album together, so best to plan early. In any case, just take a walk one afternoon and browse through the dresses they offer and compare the package options to choose the studio you feel most comfortable with.

If memory serves me correctly, I think your budget is fine and may even get you a few gowns to wear the night of your reception.

Although Taiwan is a bit more affordable, bear in mind that the photographers there will tend to shoot you in a "Taiwan-style", be it in the poses, the lighting, the shooting angle, or the clothes... It's hard to describe, but imagine the difference between your parent's wedding album and the ones done today; perhaps not as drastic, but similar idea.

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

the one that sammi used to be a model is mona lisa.
in hk, always choose the cheapest package,, u can always upgrade.. and if u choose the cheapest package,, u can always bargain.. because the salesgirl will hardsell..
the last i went there, which was last year.. u choose the photographs the next day after shooting.. and collect all the photos within 1 month. normally, u take the photos after 3 months,, but because we had special request, we collected the photos within 1 month.
bring your own artificial eyelashes, and wedding bouquet. u can buy artifical eyelashes from sasa, costs about hkd20..
also remember to wear tights underneath..
have fun and enjoy yourself.

There's a street of wedding stores in TST - Kimberley Road. I popped into Pretty Woman a couple of years ago and their outfits were beautiful.

Oh yes, Mona Lisa, how could I forget...

Also popular along with the Kimberly Road shops, there is the building directly across from Pioneer Center on the opposite side of Nathan that has it all under 1 roof.
