Sleuth - Know the owner and when they started they had an inventory issue -- not enough movies imported from the US / UK.

Dunno if they have fixed it, but it is a legit operation.

My problem was .. I don't and I cannot plan my movie viewing a couple of days in advance. Our ritual is to head to the rental place with my son and browse around.

plasticdog is on a distinguished road
I used to subscribe to one of these operations back home and it was good as I always had movies even if I was too busy to go out, plus no fines for late return.

However you often have to queue about 20-30 movies just to have continuous service and you arent guaranteed first choice, which can be a pain especially if you really want to watch a certain film.

I may try it out though just because I'm lazy

We were big Netflix fans at home and used to pick one movie from every genre (except a couple; for instance, my wife won't watch horror) and ended up watching some good movies that we never would have picked up at the rental store.

I used to subscribe to Movieflys for a couple of months but it was not worth it. Response was acceptable at first, you get a new DVD 2-3 days after you have returned one back then response time became slower making the service expensive.

E-mails to customer service does not get any response. Not sure if they have improved.

Exactly! I didn't want to mention the issue I was having, just wanted to see if anyone else had it.

I would term the response "excellent' once; the first time. Then it took a week for them to discover they had my return, but at least they responded to my reported problem

We sent a movie back on the 29th of April, have reported the problem twice and sent an email to customer service and nothing. No response, no update on my account. Like the place is on vacation or something.

This is HK, how long could it take for mail to go from place to place? The first movie I sent back was received the next day and we had our next movie two days later. So I know how fast it can be, but am now learning how slow it can be.

We loved Netflix and I would realy like to contnue using these guys, but they are making it awfuly hard.

Perhaps KIA can mention to the owner? He must not know this is happening.

Received an email from Movieflys whilst onthe KCR commute home. They have shut down for May and will be back under new management in June. Seems I will have to reapply then.
But that is sort of good-bad news. Sorry they need to reorganize, but maybe the service will turn out great and we'll all be happy.
