I think they trust you to return it eventually. Never a problem with Netflix and hoping ther same here once they reorganize.
Keep in mind you can't always ask for the hottest rentals.

There has been some technology demonstrated which basically has a photo sensitive layer on the DVD. You rented DVD turns black in a couple of days. So you can rent it .. keep it ... once you open it, you have to watch it in a couple of days.

They're redoing their site ... used to have a fair bit of detail on how it worked.

Some movies would be better watched after a couple of days, then.

would you support another online movie rental site?

I am researching the possibility of starting an online movie rental service in Hong Kong. I don't know if movieflys.com stopped, and if so, was it because HK couldn't support such a service?

I am wondering if:
-DVD's are so cheap to buy here that nobody rents anyway.
-would expats support a service like this?

thanks.

Find one from magazine.

www.o8Media.com

Don't know their quality.

I always get old movie cross the border. New movie always not good quality. Old movie was very cheap. I found one type high compression DVD, in one DVD have 6-20 hours movie. It cost RMB6 per disc. Quality wise, "ok" only, not really DVD9 quality, but I think it was worthy because we only pay less than HKD2 for one movie, what we can expect? I am not looking for collection, just watch for once or twice, then throw away.
