| | | Hey
I love a good game of footie now and again and so would love to join you guys. I am about to move to HK from the UK and so I was wondering if I need to bring any footie boots? What kind of surface do you usually play on? (grass, astro, concrete?)
Maybe I can get a cheap pair of boots in HK.

| | | On my travels I noticed there was a large footie pitch (astro) between Johnston Road and Hennessy Road and it looked like anyone could just turn up and play. Although it was during the day Im sure it might be free during the evenings.Anyone know anymore about it? Although I will be there on the 30th I would be up for playing a regular game now and again! | |

I assume you mean Southorn playground (concrete pitch). There are a many concrete and tarmac pitches around but they can't be booked online so it's a bit more tricky to book them. It is possible to turn up on the off-chance of course and if it is not being used we could play a game, it's just that the people who play live in different areas so some of them might travel a fair distance only to get there and find that the pitch is being used and we can't play.
I work in Wan Chai so if you want to organise a game at Southorn I'm happy to turn up after work and give it a shot.
There are many other pitches dotted around in housing estates etc. so it's possible to roll up at a public housing estate, for example, and play whoever is there. I used to play pick-up games like that with a local team and they usually played goal and off (whoever scores first stays on). It can be good fun sometimes, but sometimes there is a lot of hanging around waiting to play if a lot of teams turn up. I don't know whether people would be interested in the occasional game like that.

| | | Just a reminder that the game is still on for Thursday night. I haven't had many definite confirmations so I'm not sure how many will turn up.
Happy Valley Pitch No.14, 6.30 - 8.00 pm
Thursday, 30th August.
Pitch is astro-turf.
Meet at the pitch. | |

| | | Hi Gary
If you can bring one white and one coloured then that makes things easier when we sort out teams.
