Ok, our decision was fairly simple ... a fair number of kids from our building go to the ESF Kindergarten.
Must also say that based on feedback from a number of other parents we did not really look around a whole lot (Woodlands in Chi Fu and a couple of other places like Victoria in Belchers). We were not too overly impressed with them to change the default decision.
Also the costs were reasonable.
The ratio is 1 teacher and 2 assistants per group of 20.
The quality of teachers .. well it might vary depending on who your son ends up with. As always, the older teachers tend to be more involved and some of the younger ones might view this as a job. This happens in any educational institution.
One thing.. they tend to hire solid folks. A couple of pre-schools we've seen tend to hire fresh grads just on their ability to speak english.
At the end of the day, I dont' expect my son (or want him to) solve quantum physics problems... I tend to view this as an opportunity for him to develop social and communication skills. The program seems to be geared towards that.
