| Hey all! I am currently living and working in mainland China. However, I will be taking a nice position in HK (just recieved my visa/entry permit label today). My questions are: 1. Is this initial visa/entry permit sufficient to allow me to cross the HK/mainland border at will (ie. without applying for a mainland visitors visa)? I do have a mainland residents permit, but that will be expireing soon. 2. If I chose to live in SZ and work in HK (I am aware of the travel situation Thanks in advance for your help!! |

I can't remember if they ask for an address when you apply for HKID. Guess it makes sense they want one on file. I have never had to use a non HK address for anything in HK so I am not sure. Why the heck would you want to live in Shenzhen and come to Hong Kong daily? If you are entering Shenzhen with a passport be ready to get new passports all the time, peak hours will be 2 hour commute each way, Long immigration lines ups. Such a hassle. Sure you can get cheaper housing, but why spend so much more on transport everyday and spend 4 hours of transport daily. Wouldn't you rather that 4 hours having dinner with friends, working out, checking out the sites, or even just in front of the TV/Computer? |
