| I have had difficulty changing HK dollars in Hanoi, so I would think RMB would also be difficult. The 5 star hotels will generally change many currencies, as will the couple of international banks in the city, but local banks and other hotels wouldn't change HKD as it wasn't on their exchange-rate list. Guess the bank couldn't check the exchange rate?? Check with your hotel to see if they will change RMB, or make sure you arrange to get to ANZ or HSBC to change money if your hotel won't. USD can be exchanged in most places, and can often be used when making purchases. ATM's only allow you to take about $125USD per transaction.
No HK plugs.
As for shopping, I think it's alright, but depends what you're shopping for. |
