What is that concierge service for anyway? Is it a free service, or pay-per-use?

Tower 6 vs. 1/2:
Prices for apartments in tower 1/2 are so much more expensive. I think I'll pass on those. Do you find the extra walk from the HB entrance to tower 6 te be irritating, or is it ok?

If you got to chose between towers 3,5,6 all over again, what tower would you pick and why?

Please forgive me for all the detailed questions, but am looking to make my final decision next month.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Yellowtip,

The concierge service is free. So far I have been very impressed with this service!

The walking time from the entrance to Tower 6 is a bit less than 2 minutes. So far it hasn't really bothered me. In addition there is a rear exit to the complex just behind Tower 6 which means I can get to the bus stop for TST / Mongkok in less than 5 minutes from my front door.

If I had to choose again I think I would still choose Tower 6 because of its unblocked views (its at the end of the row) and its proximity to the rear exit which I tend to use everyday. In some ways Tower 3 is the worst because a lot of the apartment views are blocked by Towers 1 and 2. Also Tower 5 has some of its views blocked by Towers 3 and 6 to either side. I think it very much depends on which side you are facing and which floor you are on - the higher the better as usual!

JMBF ...thanks again.

I was set on tower 3, purely for the proximity to the main entrance, but if it takes only 2 mins from tower 6 to the main entrance, then that's no problem at all.

You might also have a good point about the view from tower 3 apartments.

As for the concierge service...great that it's good and free...but what is it?

Also, do you hear a lot of noise from cars/trains downstairs?

Tower 6 here as well. Wind is strong at this estate but I also agree it is pleasant in the summer.

In terms of quality it is top notch for this price range. Fixtures and design are tasteful and good quality as you would expect from SHKP (every flat has a LCD tv in the bathroom mirror).

I think the bigger question is whether you prefer to face west with a warmer ocean view or east with a cooler city view.

Hampton Place

Hi Yellowhair,

Have you considered 'Hampton Place'? It's beside the 'Long Beach'. It's right on the water, and about a 7 minute walk from Olympic Station. And for those who don't want to walk 7 minutes there is a free shuttle service. Apparently developers are super important in HK and I agree that Harbor Green's developer can't be beat. But if you are serious about investing in property 'Hampton Place' might be a neat alternative without the monetary bite to your wallet.

My husband and I have lived here for about a year now and are enjoying our stay. My only complaint is that it could be bigger (650sq.ft).

Hope this helps,

Regarding the concierge service - they are just there to help you with everyday things - e.g. calling taxis for you / answering any questions you have about the apartment / arranging for food deliveries / making bookings at the club house etc etc. There is a receptionist in the lobby of every tower whose job it is to answer your queries and help you out.

Regarding the noise - it is pretty quiet overall. There is some motorway noise but it is pretty subdued. I am on a high floor and facing the city so it may be worse for lower floor apartments facing the harbour / highway.

yellowtip > MHV is closer to Nam Cheong station (10 mins walk). Walking to Olympic takes a little bit longer. There are frequent minibuses to Olympic and Mongkok though.

There is also a welcome and other shops in the shopping mall below the apartments.

Actually one of the main reasons why some local people do not like MHV, is because it is located next to Kowloon crematorium. It seems the blocks with a view of the crematorium have more expats than other blocks...

bobbiesehra: thanks for the tip. Will check out Hampton Place next time I'm in that area.

JMBF: Thanks for all the info about Harbour Green.

amseiko:a crematorium... ouch! that would be a deal breaker for my Hong Kong wife. She's extremely sensitive to those kind of things. Thanks for all the info though.

How is Habour Green?

Hi Everyone!

I'm thinking about buying and moving into Harbour Green too! The club house seems amazing and location is good for me.

How do you guys like living there? Any inconvenience? Read from a local forum that there are cockroaches. Is that a problem for you? Would really appreciate your opinion!

Thanks!
