| | | For a 17 year old? I don't think so.
Apart from anything else you are only legally allowed to enter non-smoking bars and there are very few of them. Even then someone over 18 has to order any drinks that you are served, so I don't think there's any way and open bar can be run legally for under 18s.

| | | Actually I've been wondering about that since I came here. I've NEVER seen any clubs or bars in HK that have carded. Granted, I haven't been to many... but the few I've been to in LKF seemed pretty big, and seems like they let everyone in as long as they followed the dress code. I've also noticed guys and girls who are very obviously underage (some look like they're 12!) in and out of these places smoking and drinking.
What's legal and what's being practiced seem like completely different things...

| | | Ask one of the students at the International schools and they'll tell you which bars have a "we don't want to know" attitude.
There are a couple of places that are fairly notorious hangouts for the Island school lot ...

| | | The places that I go to in Soho and LKF often "card" people. I have seen it numerous times. | |

| | | I get carded regularly. It happens less here than it did in the UK though.
It just annoys me when I see people I KNOW are underage drinking in the same place that I've just been carded in.

| | | If you are a HK resident then it is of course a legal requirement to carry your HKID card with you at all times, so these questions about valid documents are just for the tourists. | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 08:59 PM. | |
