Am I mad?

I was in HK at the beginning of the year with my family (3 yr old, 10month old) - we loved it. I've been asked to go back - over the month of June. I suspect things will be somewhat different - i.e. the the weather. My wife has serious reservations about the trip, yes it is just for a month, but isn't June the month that sane people leave HK? Is the heat really that unbearable?

To make the visit more palatable we are looking to stay in Parkview- is that a good idea? Will they be a hostage because it is too hot to venture out?

Please, someone say something positive (and truthful) about being in HK in June!!!

For summer, the temperature's usually mid-30s (celsius) and high humidity... don't plan on being outside for more than 20 minutes at a time!

It's actually low 30s - average maximum around 31 degrees. Climatological data here: http://www.hko.gov.hk/cis/normal/197...y_normal_e.htm

(The hottest ever day in HK was 36.1, and in June 35.6)

dancingmango, temp is almost irrelevant here. The humidity is the shocker. It is draining and suffocating and hard to handle for most people.

Living at Park View, you will have the air conditioned shuttle bus or taxi's that sit idle with the air con on non stop.

We all pretty much go from aircon home to aircon taxi/bus to aircon office or mall and back the same way.

If it's for a month I guess it would be easier.
