Dependant visa Hi, My girlfriend and i both live in the uk, she is from HK (perm resident) i am from the uk. We are planning to get married next month and are considering moving to HK at some point next year.Initially we will be living with her parents. In order for me to be granted a dependants visa what conditions must i meet? I have read other posts talking about net worth, does she have to prove that she can support me for a certain amount of time? if this is so, roughly how much should we have saved...She would be working for her father on arrival. Any help appreciated chris Last edited by p0rt; 04-08-2004 at 06:32 PM.

The official guidance is here: http://www.immd.gov.hk/pdforms/id939a.pdf which doesn't specify an amount except to say "able to support you at a level well above the subsistance level and provide you with suitable accommodation". My guess would be that if she had an income above HK$10K per month or so, plus a room at her parents place then you should be fine.

Hmmm.. Interesting, life is on rush.. You havent specified the status of your wife. Is she HK permenant resident? Even if so, considering all factors such as she working in London and needs to show financial support in HK... She is too busy going back and forth.... You are too busy.... Best way you should consult solicitor or Immd consultant and become hassle free.. But mind you, probably all you need is some advice to arrange and present your case in right perspective, so no need to go for a specialized person... There are Immg consultants in HK charging from HKD10000 to HKD100000 per case.. choice is yours

My wife is a hk permanent resident, but working in London for a HK based company , , I have enough qualifications to easily get a job in HK, but would make it much easier getting this case setteld. Immigration says it is difficult since she living in London, and that I want leave and come back , now she will be in HK twise this hk, and I can wait around, but it is a wast of time if I dont now this is enough and the immigration department are not willing to advise me , we will see how it goes , any more advise warmly welcommed

Hey Hans, thats why i told you better consultant solicitor or Immg consultant and if you wanna go directly they will be as much fussy as they can in your cas, i guess. First thing, the moment you say she is not here, they will ask thousand questions and then she needs to be here during Application processing and they might call her anytime for an interview and she needs to produce this and that... Im not sure both of you can afford so much hassle.. Both of you might end up paying more in round trips.
