That's a favorite of mine as well. I also like "You live by the sword, you die by the sword!" or is you prefer the Biblical "Lord giveth, Lord taketh away!" - My traders love that one when I use it after taking away their revenue.
By the way all, isn't it time we let this thread die? (no pun intended)
I think everyone is in agreement that what happened in Virginia Tech is trully a tragic event. However, this United Nations discussion experiment we have going on is not really going to accomplish anything or make anyone's life any better. Everyone knows there are cultural, social & political problems in the U.S. as there are eveywhere else in the world. Unfortunately, they are not limited to just one, two or three factors but rather a web of complicated interdependent variables which developed into issues over a long period of time. Thus, focusing on just one symptom is not going to "cure the desease."
Stopping of legal sale of guns in the U.S. today, will do no more to curb overall domestic violence in the US then stopping of the train service in Tokyo will have on reducing teen suicide rates. All cultures & societies at some point will have to take their issues into the consideration in order to survive, or they will ultimately face an internal collapse like many Nations/Empires before them.
