Me, come across as a ranting looney? I beg to differ and I'm sure others here will back me up, that I presented a coherent argument citing examples to illustrate my points and quite rationally dissected the exact wording and meaning of the amendment.

As for staying in the GWN and not coming to the US, perhaps you kinda missed that little clue too.

That's a favorite of mine as well. I also like "You live by the sword, you die by the sword!" or is you prefer the Biblical "Lord giveth, Lord taketh away!" - My traders love that one when I use it after taking away their revenue.

By the way all, isn't it time we let this thread die? (no pun intended)

I think everyone is in agreement that what happened in Virginia Tech is trully a tragic event. However, this United Nations discussion experiment we have going on is not really going to accomplish anything or make anyone's life any better. Everyone knows there are cultural, social & political problems in the U.S. as there are eveywhere else in the world. Unfortunately, they are not limited to just one, two or three factors but rather a web of complicated interdependent variables which developed into issues over a long period of time. Thus, focusing on just one symptom is not going to "cure the desease."

Stopping of legal sale of guns in the U.S. today, will do no more to curb overall domestic violence in the US then stopping of the train service in Tokyo will have on reducing teen suicide rates. All cultures & societies at some point will have to take their issues into the consideration in order to survive, or they will ultimately face an internal collapse like many Nations/Empires before them.

It seems you have your mind made up already by the tone of your questions. A gun is a tool. When an airplane goes down killing 250 nobody suggests banning airplanes. The fact is that a swimming pool in your backyard is more dangerous than a gun in your house.

Would you feel better if he pushed them out of windows or built a bomb out of fertilizer?

why are Americans so adamant about the 2nd amendment and arming themselves, with assault weapons no less?

Have you ever fired a gun in your life? Do know anything about guns? or are you just one of these self-righteous annoying Canadians that thinks you are better because you are Canadian?

Sens, i'm getting the feeling from some of your other posts you are trolling.

and ya i have fired guns, I worked in the US with gun owners who took me to ranges with them and I was a cadet as well. whats that got anything to do with why some Americans are so freakin adamant about the 2nd amendment?

See one of my previous posts, i have yet to hear a substantive explanation of why, other than the regurgitated party line "its my right"

There is a flaw in your thinking. Why wouldn't it be a right? Do you advocate banning swimming pools? Do you realize that more children die in swimming pools each year than from guns?
