Please don't tell me you guys tried the CMW ride without helmets?!?

There's a place to stock up on drinks partway through the ride... it's after you come down the long concrete footpath into the little village. Before the climb over the hill to the prison. It looks like a concrete house, but you can buy Coke, Pocari and water there.

Do you guys have the necessary permits for all this, or are you ignoring that?

Helmets!

I religiously wear helmets when mountain biking or motorcycling. So,I hired one. One of the guys wasn't wearing one and quickly realized that he should have hired one. My "nagging" wasn't enough. LOL. Anyway, it was a good learning experience and I'm training to hit the trails without being so winded.....

Next time I'll let you know JGL when we try to plan another trip.

Later

Jeff

Hello all,

It looks like I missed both rides mentioned here but I am new to HK (got here two months ago) and used to cycle all the time in England. Am missing it terribly here and would really like to start up again. Would anyone be up for a ride at some point in the next few weeks?

Fi

EET UP AT FRIENDLY BIKES in MUI WO around 10:00 AM on Saturday September 1st

Take the ferry to Mui Wo.
From Mui Wo - to get to this one you turn left off the ferry and follow the pier past McDonald's and the China Bear pub. The bike shop is just around the corner from the pub. It's called Friendly Bikes

Bikes cost from $50 to $150.
We're going to do the Chi Ma Wan peninsular ride.

Bring lots of water! and some energy food and mosrt importantly HELMET and any safety gear!
