CUHK 3 Month Cantonese Course Details

Hello there, last year in August I studied at the CUHK for short 1 month course for Cantonese. I am hoping to study again this August for the Regular 3 month program but I noticed that the course title is Teaching Chinese as a Foreign/ Second Language/ TCFL. My intention is to learn the language only but not to teach later in life. Does this mean the course will be tailored towards teaching aspects? Like being sent to local schools to teach? I really enjoyed the previous course, I hope the Regular program is much the same as the month course. Anyone who has studied the Regular program can you give some details of the course. Any information is useful! Thank you!

Hi there. I'm a local university student.

If the course is TCFL then I don't think it's for beginners. I think it's more of a course for people who are fluent in both Chinese and English(?) like when you study TEFL you have to be fluent in English.
Fair enough?

CLC Cantonese Courses

CLC of CUHK provides Cantonese Courses to non Chinese-native speakers. The full name of the classes should be "Cantonese as a foreign / second Language". The center can provide professional training to teachers who want to teach Chinese (Putonghua & Cantonese), but most of the students are the beginners who want to start from learning the language.
This year the Summer School start from July. Schedule is quite fexible and classes are specailly made for elementary/intermediate levels.
Also evening classes in downtown and regular full time study are available. Regular Full Time students study 5 days a week, 3 hours per day. Cantonese Class focus on Oral skill trainning. New term(Summer) will start at 14 May. Check more at www.cuhk.edu.hk/clc.
Glad to know that you enjoyed the class!
