| | Free Vegemite (1) Bought a tube of vegemite in Cairns - thought I needed to try it. Had a sample size at a following breakfast - determined I don't care for it.
Am guessing you can get it here in HK - but if not this might be useful to someone.
I am in the Citibank Plaza, if you 'PM' me and can stop by, it's yours!

| | | Yup Right, counting on an Aussie somewhere to want it... Didn't know til recently that the British also like something similar called Marmite (what's with the 'mites' and which came first?)
Anyhoo, I suppose if you can get this stuff in HK mine will just end up in the garbage... we'll see...

Think Marmite is vegetarian and Brovil used to be made from beef but it may be vegetarian as well. I used to have Marmite when I was young and maybe that's why I don't mind Vegemite. And yes, what's the deal with 'mites'?

| | | It's Bovril, nor Borvil, and yes it's made with beef. I have a tub at home and add a spoonful to my noodle water rather than that horrible MSG packet that they give you. | |

dick smith created the item, aswell as skippy peanut butter | I wouldn't say that "not many austalians like it..." just because it is owned by Kraft. Australians are far to apathetic. I would say that you would find a jar of vegemite in a very large percentage of Australian households.
I have never even seen aussiemite, I love my vegemite too much (I won't break into song.....).
Dick Smith peanut butter has never been called Skippy. Skippy is an all-American product.
BTW, Kraft and Eta (another popular brand for spreads in Australia) are both owned by the company formerly known as Phillip Morris, and we all know where they got there money from.
... and don't even start me on the hair products called "Aussie".... | | Tools | Search | | | | | Rate This Thread | | | All times are GMT +8. The time now is 05:40 AM.
