I buy this product from the seller, which advertise in GeoExpat Classified.

Even I try this TV about 45 min in seller house (At seller house, TV didn't auto turn off, but colour being set to very pale colour, he mentioned that he are not familiar with the setting) but after I brought back to my place, the 1st day I face problem already.

After few hour used, the TV will automatic shut off, I call the seller, he told me that he never face this problem.

The next day, the TV totally can't used. The TV will auto shut off after few second. Few second!!!

Now, the seller don't answer my phone. I leave voice message to inform him and request he to call me back. Even after two voice message I leave and more than a week already, he still haven't call me back.

What can I do?

Er, caveat emptor. You're buying "as seen". You saw it, tested and agreed to buy it. The seller didn't offer any warranty.

Be more careful next time.

How were you cheated? AS PDLM said, you tested it, decided you wanted to buy it, after paying and taking away all was over. Responsibility of the TV became yours.

Whats the model number? Might be able to dig up a manual for you if that is of any help.

I know Toshibas have an auto-off setting -- the first Toshiba I had used to go off at mid-night and it took me a week to figure out why.

I have one B&O TV have the same problem, the TV will auto switch off. The special thing was, if you put a side the TV for a week or more, then the TV can be play normally for a few hour before auto switch off again.

Freeir, is this the "skill" that you want to learn? Or you intereseted to buy this TV from me?

i bought a used Toshiba too when I first arrived HK. Bought from a used appliance place in Sham Shui Po. After around a month the color went more and more to a green tint. After a little while it was like everything on tv was hulk-style. anyway, called a local repair place which charges around 200hkd to come out and fix whatever. The guy spent a good 2hrs soldering on new resisters, capacitors, the special color separator thingamajig. Nice guy and really tried. A few times it appeared fixed but then quickly tinted again. Finally gave up and told us either replace the boards inside for a gazillion dollars or just buy a new tv. Obviously we just got a new tv. But damn he sure did try! If this were in China, the repair guy would spend five minutes making the tv worse, say it's fixed and leave.
Moral of the story, Toshiba's don't make good used tvs!
