American marrying Chinese

I'm an US citizen who also hold HKSAR passport and plan to marry a Chinese national later this year. Even though my fiancee does not plan to apply for her US green card immediately we still want to follow the right procedure so there wouldn't be any obstacle in the furture. Need advice from someone who has experience or who can recommend an immigration attorney.
Also what is the process for her to becomne HK resident?

Not sure about immigration lawyers etc. How distant are you thinking of apply for US green card? If it is going to be awhile don't worry about it yet.

Mainland Chinese moving to HK is complicated. They have separate requirements altogether and are known to pay people to get married and move to HK. So the immigration process for Mainland Chinese takes 4-6 years.

I will check with a few people that I know that have moved from China to HK, confirm the process.

Ok, so here is the experience from another mainland Chinese person:

Being able to come to HK to take up living with husband = about 3 months.

Being able to get a HK ID card and work/study etc = 3.5 years.

So for the first almost 4 years min after getting married you are looking at not being able to work in HK or have any benefits of the ID card holder. Not sure if that is a problem or not for you.

Thx for the info. In our case my fiancee might have to wait up to 10 years for HKSAR ID because of the long waiting list for Guangdong resident. There's no other way.

When is your return to the US planned? Many folks find it much much easier to get a K-1 visa (fiancee), head to the US, marry in the US, and then have the paperwork processed there, instead of getting married overseas.

I'd encourage you to look into this--depends of course on when you want to go back to the USA.
