I am and I even volunteered at the HK Intl Film Festival... but I'm still angry that I missed the Asian Film Awards because I found out the day after that they were in real short supply of backstage helpers that night to keep the celebrities occupied.

I used to watch the Hong Kong gangster movies made by Run Run Shaw. They were good for cheap thrills. I don't know if they make these anymore.

They still do, but they don't make 'em like they used to.

We would care if the movies didn't suck.

HK used to be SO great when it came to movies... From back in the Shaw Bros days, to Bruce Lee, all the way up to the mid 90's.

Then the triad got involved.

Then mass piracy.

Now the HK movie industry has resorted to making a new stupid comedy every month. Besides Infernal Affairs, there hasn't been anything good in a long time. And even that movie's legacy has been ruined by the sequels.

So these awards are irrelevant.

Yup, every year there is one movie that is nominated in every category. This year it appears to be Muk Gong
