Buckle up on minibuses!

Beginning August 1, if the minibus you're riding has seatbelts, make sure you buckle yours up for safety.

Under a new law, anyone who doesn't buckle up on a minibus - if it has seatbelts - will be subject to a maximum fine of $5,000 and three months' imprisonment.

Drivers may refuse to drive if a passenger will not wear a seat belt. This causes inconvenience to all the other passengers, too.

Each seat belt must be used by one person at a time. If two kids take up one seat and count as one adult, only one of you have to wear the seat belt.

So decide which of your kids is your favourite and instruct them accordingly!

Why am I not surprised? Judging by the way these maniacs drive, it's only natural to want to buckle up!!

I'm not kidding... last weekend i actually timed it. And for the locals, you know how far this is:

Mong Kok to Tai Po Centre in 15mins (green minibus)!!!
Quicker then the KCR and that's a train!

Thumbs up this one's even better...

I'll go one up on you....I have my daily minibus journey planned to the last detail..

On average,...my regular route between Kennedy Town and Mong Kok takes 20 mins (at the most, and thats on the higher side)....imagine taking just 9 mins(!) to get to Yau Ma Tei MTR station from Kennedy Town. If that's not all, its very possible to 'shave' a minute or two depending on whether the minibus has an Autotoll system and whether there are radar guns checking for speeding in the tunnel....all this and not to mention you get a hair-raising, white-knuckle, 'hanging-on-to-dear-life' ride everytime you use one! ..

Verdict: COOOL!!

I have to say that the Route 69 ("Cyberpoint to Taikoo Shing for the benefit of HK CSL" route) seems a lot more civilised than most green minibuses. I haven't timed it, but then I have never felt ill on it either!

Wow, 2 days ago I went to visit a friend in Gold Coast by Red Minibus I took in Jordan/Mongkok. That route is the craziest I've been on so far.......I don't get how people can fall asleep in there. They kept bangin' their head on the bar along the window..it was a funny sight. It was FAST though....

*Thumbs up* I like minibuses
