Does anyone know anything about Kellet School?

I'm interested to hear from any parents who have children at Kellet School or anyone can help me to answer the following questions

I know there is a waiting list so how long in advance is it advisable to put your childs name down?

Also I know alot of British children attend but what's the percentage of mixed children? ie - British/Chinese? etc ....

Thank You!

It is a very English Prep school. We have three children of which the eldest will be Primary 1 this September - there are over 100 kids on the waiting list. Even for our youngest (Primary 1 in 2010) there are 50 kids on the list. My advice - if you want in, just apply ASAP.

As for mix of kids - there are very few Chinese kids there. I would say 65-70% english and then a mix of American, Australian etc. These nationalities are based on passport only. It is definitely one of the more "homogenous" schools out there. Not a huge focus on Mandarin teaching either. Good general standard of education though.

I'm sure you've already checked this out, but just in case:

I would agree with Tommy that the kids are mostly white and western but not exclusively. There is also quite a nice community feeling about the school with parents often spending time helping out etc. The building is currently being extended so there may be a larger intake during the next academic year, but I don't know for sure. I'd definately recommend giving the school a call and talking to their admissions officer.
