PSP questions

I'm interested in getting a PSP.. Since I'm the only one on the MTR without one and want to fit in.. I see shops advertising version 1.5, why?? Why do I want an old firmware version? Also I want this to work when I go back to the US and play games I buy in US.

So I guess my questions are

1. What version should I get and why.
2. What do I need to do to make sure it works when I return to the US.

Thanks for the help..

jeremy

Gatts will become famous soon enough
I you want to fit in, buy a DS. There a far more DS's then PSP's around

In short, the firmware 1.5 enables you to unlock your PSP to play pirate games and PS1 games, which you can download on your memory card.

I have a PSP and am in the process of buying an NDS Lite for my niece. That being said, I would comment that the PSP's screen and build quality far surpass that of the NDSL. But if it's copy games that turn you on then go for the NDSL.

The PSP has one thing over the NDSL in terms of gaming, and that's the bigger screen.

However, there are very few good or even decent games for PSP, so the NDSL is by far the better choice.

The point is, those games aren't PSP games.. they're arcade games from the 80's! They should play the same whether you're on an NES, Gameboy Advance, PSP, etc, etc... If you're going to argue that the PSP has good games, at least use some native PSP games

And there's nothing wrong with a bit of old school gaming

Thanks for the help? So if I'm going to download games off the net then go with v1.5 otherwise newer version. I?ll also check out the NDSL.

I guess if I get a v1.5 I can always update the firmware, right?

You guys Rock!!!!

The origins of a game are quite irrelevant. A game that is difficult to play on one console can appear to be a completely different game on another console. The console experience is the deciding factor. A PSP owner is not going to move over to the NDSL just because it's newer. The NDSL is never going to give you the same gaming experience and likewise vice-versa.

Another point to note for the OP is that the PSP can store and playback digital photos, music and video files.
